A New Facebook Travel Blog Page is in town!

If this is your first time here, do check this bio.

Over the past few months as I embarked on a nomadic life, a number of people, many whom I don't even know closely, have written to me and been extremely nice, supportive and have encouraged me to travel, write, become an author and do something significant with my life.

Kamino, kutton, I know.. very soon you will all become rich and I shall become penniless.

Heh, but thanks. It has motivated me to consider ways in which I could make a sustainable living out of travel. As I grapple with those doubts, I continue to write the stories I experience

I have been thinking a lot these last few months. (For those who do not know, I quit my job in June '13 and went for a solo trip in Europe. One trip lead to another, and another). Having been on the road for months and loving it entirely, I began to consider the possibilities of doing this full time. Travelling and writing about it.

It is a hard decision to make. I still haven't really made it, to be brutally honest. A part of me wants to do just this - travel, write stories, inspire more people to travel, help them plan trips, lead tours etc. A part of me realizes that the life of a freelancer has its own share of worries, a steady income being the biggest. I have already said no to a fairly high paying job, because taking it up would be the easy thing to do. I also don't want to think that I should earn as much as I can till I am 40, and then travel the world. For then I won't be as adventurous as I am today. I want to live in the moment.

Sangria? Alcohol? Mai? No no, this is err grape juice[cough]
What do I plan to do? Well, first travel of course. I want to climb as many mountains as I can, dance in as many countries possible, ogle at as many animals in the wild as I can, run into waterfalls, and be friends with as many people as possible all over the world.

When I am not travelling, professionally,

a) Having a 2.5 years work experience background in travel, having created content from scratch, having trained Sales teams on destinations, I want to use that expertise in independently creating holidays for people. Big margins don't interest me, making a fantastic trip for someone does. I am also a travel consultant for a few startups trying to make it big. I love leading group tours, so that is something I want to do as well.

I would love it if you will trust me to plan a trip for you, and will do all I can to make it as memorable as possible.

b) I also write extensively on travel, both on my own blog @ www.garam-samose.blogspot.in and a few other publications. Plus, I will also use this forum to continuously share tips and tricks and secrets I found out while I was travelling and during my daily reading and research, to help you create the holiday you like - budget, backpacking, luxury resort, honeymoon, offbeat, etc.

Again, I am still deciding. It is a tough road to take, but one that I like. Its very exciting. Heh, its funny that after hearing so many people say that what I do is inspiring (in a shallow way), I kind of see it as my responsibility also to maintain that faith they have had.
Ladies and gentlemen, I have a new travel blog page on fb now - This Guy's On His Own Trip . I shall use this page to give as many tips and advice as possible on all things on travel - how to travel cheap, what to be prepared for when traveling to Europe, how to do the bhangra in a Croatian disco and generate a fan following etc etc

We got over 150 people to join on day one within the first four hours. I would love it if you could be part of this page, if you could help spread the word and get your friends to check out the page as well. Cheers.

Right, emotional speech done. Now, I am going to dive into my waterfall. Any women wanting to give kisses, do line up. Men, err just go 'like' the page.
